- Abstract
In order to facilitate an in-depth understanding on the flexural performance of the precast concrete sandwich panel with FRP plate type connector, numerical models based on general purpose finite element software ABAQUS was conducted to investigate the influence of the connector layout and the concrete rib thickness on the out-of-plane initial stiffness of the precast concrete sandwich panel. The results indicated that for the specimen without concrete rib, the out-of-plane shear deformation of the specimen would be decreased through reducing the connector spacing and the stiffness would be improved. For the specimen with concrete rib, the stiffness presented an initial increase and followed by a decrease with the increase of the connector spacing. The increase of the concrete rib thickness would improve the stiffness of the specimen, while the improvement would be reduced with the decrease of the connector spacing.
