- Title
The Double Papillae Flap.
- Authors
Makris, George P.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the double papillae flap, a technique used in dentistry. The double papillae flap is a mucogingival procedure for increasing the width of the attached gingiva and to cover the denuded root structure around isolated teeth, by using material taken from the adjacent papillae. It is stated that involvement of the adjacent interdental bony crests, and a sufficient mesiodistal and gingivo-occlusal dimension of the keratinized masticatory epithelium covering the papillae are necessary conditions for the success of the procedure.
