Abstract
The article reports that a team of Japanese biochemists led by S. Yoshida have isolated and determined the structure of an opiate found in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of pigs. The opiate is heptadecapeptide, found in the duodenum of pigs. According to the researchers, the opiate matches in structure with dynorphin, which is found in the pituitary.
