- Abstract
This article presents a literary analysis of the oracle given by the prophet Nathan to King David within the Old Testament passage of 2 Samuel 7:1-17. The author highlights its structural form and thematic references to the Deuteronomistic ideology of the Judahite dynasty. It is suggested that the composition of the passage reflects the evolution of the monarchic ideology of the nation within three periods surrounding the Deuteronomist.
