An essay is presented on the career profile and early works of African-American minister Elias Camp Morris who was the first president of the National Baptist Convention (NBC). Topics cited include a brief overview of Morris' career from being a slave to President of the NBC, the highlights of Morris' publication titled "Sermons, Addresses and Reminiscences and Important Correspondence" published in 1901 and the reciprocal principle presented in the early works of Morris.
