- Abstract
The biography "Karl Peters (1904-1998): Responsibility and Claim of a Jurist" by Hannah Andres deals with the life and work of criminal lawyer Karl Peters. The author analyzes Peters' writings during the National Socialist era and argues against the characterization of National Socialist law as a "perverted law". She emphasizes that National Socialist law is partly in continuity with the development of criminal law since the 19th century. The author also examines Peters' work as a prosecutor during the Third Reich and his commentary on the Youth Court Act. The biography provides a comprehensive representation of Peters' intellectual work.
