- Authors

- Abstract
This article presents a collection of essays about Roman inquisition, the index and the Jews. The five brief essays included in the article suggests specific avenues for research to follow and to survey in some detail about the kinds of riches this Archive of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (ACDF) offers. The second essay discusses the general structure of the ACDF, with no reference to Jews. The documentation relevant for Jewish history in the ACDF appears in the series Decreta, Censura librorum, Dubia circa baptismum, Dubia circa matrimonium, Dubia diversa, Dubia varia, Materiae diversae, Lettere degli Inquisitori and the documents of the Roman Inquisition and the Congregation of the Index. The growing interest in the ACDF is reflected in several ambitious projects like that of the German Research Foundation. The essays are a treasure trove that awaits the specialist to unravel their significance for the history of the Jews, Jewish-Christian relations and researchers.
