- Authors
Arthur, Gordon
- Abstract
The article discusses the continued combat and surveillance operations at night or in low-light conditions by soldiers in Asia through modern night vision goggles (NVGs) as the loss of tempo is lessened when compared to daytime. The JGVS-V8, a licensed copy of the AN/PVS-14 from ITT Corp., is the standard NVG used by the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF). The U.S. AN/PVS-5A design has been licensed and produced by the Institute of Optronics of Pakistan. ST Kinetics Ltd. has made the night weapon sights for the SAR-21 rifle as part of the Advanced Combat Man System (ACMS) of Singapore.
