- Abstract
This article examines the potential benefits of employing healthcare assistants in paediatric oncology departments. It explores the implications for role definition, workforce planning, training, regulation, accountability and delegation. The article considers whether this alternative to employing more registered nurses is an effective initiative that can improve services for children, young people and their carers.
