- Abstract
The author reflects on the lessons about public service that she learned from serving as national coordinator for health information technology in the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama. She learned the importance of choosing the right position with authority, resources and mission, being prepared to leave government service, and approaching senior public roles with humility.
