- Abstract
A literary analysis of the play "Measure for Measure" by William Shakespeare is presented. It examines how the play uses pregnant and decapitated bodies as political metaphors and a commentary that the theories they represent are incoherent. It argues that the play reveals the fallacies of political theory reliant on the separation of sovereignty and the physical body.
