- Title
Health Reforms Called a "Graduation Gift" for Young Adults Who Lack Insurance.
- Authors
Voelker, Rebecca
- Abstract
The article explores the benefits of the U.S. health care reform legislation that Congress passed in March 2010 for uninsured young adults in terms of health care access. According to a report by the private foundation Commonwealth Fund, 13.7 million young adults aged 19 to 29 years do not have health insurance. The health care reform legislation extends parents' coverage for adult children to age 26 years, helping them launch careers with fewer concerns on medical debt.
