- Abstract
The authors reflect on the clinical significance of the combination of immunosuppresion drugs azathioprine and allopurinol. They note the efficacy of the combined therapy in the reduction of renal transplantation rejection and Crohn's disease activity. They discuss the Safety Notice released by the New South Wales Department of Health on the interaction of azathioprine and allopurinol. They state the importance of careful combination in the efficacy and improvement of the outcomes of the drugs.
