- Abstract
This article presents the author's views on psychopharmacology, the study of drug-induced changes in mental functions, and his experiences in studying the subject. The author reflects on the beginning of his psychiatric training in 1953 and how the field shifted over the following 40 years with advances in psychotropic drugs. The current state of psychopharmacological medicine and research is also mentioned, along with discussion of medical studies and treatment plans.
