- Abstract
The article discusses the possible roles of "The Federalist Papers" in the constitutional reconstruction efforts in the U.S., particularly in the framing and ratification of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments. Also cited are the authors of the essays, namely, John Jay, Alexander Hamilton, and James Madison, as well as the early disputes over individual authorship of the essays.
