- Abstract
The article deals with variations of the concept and practice of traditional healing as propagated and promoted through migration, mass media and telecommunications. Topics discussed include an overview of a study examining the universal elements of healing, the diversity of models and metaphors for healing and the effectiveness of a healing practice based on a larger cultural practice. The social context of healing is also discussed.
