- Abstract
Information on the Harrisburg Convention in Pennsylvania on July 30, 1827 that marked the first time in the U.S. history that a protectionist front presented itself in an organized manner on a national level in a battle over tariffs and economic philosophy in general. The convention led the passage of the most hated piece of protectionist legislation known as Tariff of Abominations of 1828. Delegations from thirteen states gathered in the place including those from New York, Ohio, and Maryland.
