- Title
Small-molecule libraries: Naturally inspired oligomers.
- Authors
Aubé, Jeffrey
- Abstract
The article discusses the role of small-molecule library in ligand discovery. It talks about the attempt to combine the favourable diversity of natural product structures with the modularity of peptide synthesis by the design of a small-molecule library for drug recovery. It mentions the importance of post-screening optimization in converting a screening hit into a useful ligand with a desirable combination of properties in terms of affinity, stability and toxicity. It also talks about the result of a study that seek to combine the modularity of peptide libraries with some attributes of successful small-molecule libraries based on natural.
