- Title
EGO CLAMOR VALIDUS GANDESHEMENSIS HROTSVITHA OF GANDERSHEIM: HER SOURCES, MOTIVES, AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT.
- Authors
Rudolph, Anna Katharina
- Abstract
The article presents the author's comments on the works and thoughts of German secular canoness and poet Hrotsvitha of Gandersheim. The author comments on her play, entitled "Agape, Chionia, and Hirena," which was named after the heroines rather than the villain. According to the author, the play serves as a depiction of female triumph and also makes a larger statement regarding Gandersheim's independence as a women-operated institution.
