- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a hand-reared male two-month-old dark-morph Gyrfalcon which was referred for a three-week history of nasal discharge and sneezing. It states that cytologic preparations were made from choanal swabs and stained with Wright stain. It adds that the cytologic diagnosis was cryptosporidiosis with septic heterophilic inflammation. It notes that cytologic evaluation alone has been considered sufficient for diagnosis of respiratory cryptosporidiosis in birds.
