- Authors
Friend, Stephen H.; Ideker, Trey
- Abstract
The authors discuss the potential of disruptive biomedical technologies in clinical practice. They say that biomedicine's future will require the generation and use of data in a sustainable way. They add that the needed technologies to transform healthcare are here, which makes it very important to focus on realigning the institutional and cultural incentives that will drive publishers, academic institutions and researchers. The alternate views offered by an entrepreneur and a clinician regarding the disruptive biomedical technologies are also presented.
