- Authors
Higgins, Terry
- Abstract
This article discusses the British airship the R-100, which made a transatlantic flight to Canada in July of 1930. The author comments on the ship's use of technology during the crossing, with a particular focus on its wireless communications, which were used to study meteorology to ensure the ideal flight path. He also provides an analysis of some of the navigation reports and other messages sent during the journey, which is accompanied by photographs and charts documenting the R-100's trek. The global press coverage of the event is also explored.
