Reply to Rafael Guimarães and Cristina Salles: "Would Metabolic Rate Be a Viable Reference Alternative to a Personalized Mineral Supplementation?" The authors appreciate the commentary on the article "The Need and Safety of Mineral Supplementation in Adults with Obesity Post Bariatric Surgery - Sleeve Gastrectomy (SG)" and the consideration of the problem would metabolic rate be a viable reference alternative to a personalized mineral supplementation? We are also aware that the nutritional reference values are intended primarily for healthy people and may not be suitable for patients also patients with obesity, but we used these levels for the assessment in order not to overestimate the deficient intake.
