- Authors
HUGGINS, ANNA
- Abstract
The article focuses on Australian and American research based on Self-Determination Theory (SDT) to investigate the phenomenon of law students' elevated distress levels. It mentions that SDT proposes three basic and universal psychological needs including autonomy, competence, and relatedness which collectively decide human thriving. It specifically discusses autonomy and suggests that lack of this contributes to increased psychological distress levels amongst law students.
