Up to 6 killed in Draggo firing, hundreds held.
- Abstract
The article reports on the death of 49-year-old layman Norpa Yonten while three monks were seriously injured after Chinese authorities fired on Tibetan protesters in Draggo in Sichuan Province in China. The Tibetans gathered in the county town and shouted slogans that call for the independence of Tibet. The protest was provoked with the festivity to mark the Chinese Spring Festival, which the authorities tried to force on the Tibetans even though they were not in the mood for it.
