- Abstract
The article presents a study which evaluated the incorrect use of ratio terms 1:x and 1/x in commercial assay kit instructions and the extend of this problem. It notes that ratio terms 1:x and 1/x are often used in kit instructions interchangeably despite having distinct meaning and crucial implications to patients. The study examined 17 kits from seven manufacturers including Binding Site in Birmingham, England, Technochrome in Vienna, Austria, and Euroimmun in Lübeck, Germany.
