- Abstract
The article presents information on a study which determines the complex structure of the Baikal rift system in Russia by analyzing the data on velocity structure of the Earth's crust and uppermost mantle in the region. It shows that data could be obtained from deep seismic sounding (DSS) and from teleseismic method of P-wave receiver function (P-to-S). Several diagrams are presented which reflects two dimensional vertical section transects and topography along the Baikal rift system and the stations of the permanent Baikal seismic network which have participated in the experiment.
