- Title
Fatal accident claims: a two-Act tale.
- Authors
Urpeth, David
- Abstract
The article focuses on the legal assessment regarding damages payable in fatal accident claims. It states that claimants should rely on the Law Reform Act 1934 or Miscellaneous Provisions, or the Fatal Accidents Act 1976, or on both acts, depending on the nature of claim. It mentions that Fatal Accidents Act uses the conventional approach of multiplier and multiplicand to calculate loss of dependency, while, Law Reform deals with benefit of deceased's estate.
