- Abstract
The article presents a study on the chemical composition and Samarium-Neodymium (Sm-Nd) isotope system of peridotite xenoliths in the continental lithospheric mantle (CLM) under Early Precambrian and Late Proterozoic-Phanerozoic structures and the primitive mantle (PM). It says that Sm/Nd ratio and the Magnesium/ Silicon (Mg/Si) value which characterizes initial substrate partial melting degree (F%) for mantle xenoliths have negative correlation. It states that the mantle under ancient cratons must be regarded as depleted while enriched in the Sm-Nd isotopic-geochemical systematic. Furthermore, it mentions that one of the causes of the difference between petrochemical and Sm-Nd isotopic geochemical characteristics is refertilization or regeneration of previously depleted mantle material.
