- Abstract
The article discusses the importance for early childhood teachers of having young children develop a sense of place through geographic experiences to allow them to understand their roles in their own communities and beyond. Topics covered include the ways to ensure the participation of all children, especially those with identified disabilities and dual language learners, and ideas for including the children's many languages and cultures in the school or program setting.
