- Abstract
The article describes the source of the unknown relationship between German composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Bach's Schubler Chorales and attempts to assess its meaning and significance for Bach-Mendelsshon. It cites Mendelssohn's role as editor of Bach's Organ Chorales while engaged by Conventry to compose his own volume of organ works resulting to his completed 6 Organ Sonatas. It suggests that the prints of Bach's Organ Chorales represented Mendelssohn's editorial involvement.
