- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 46-year-old female in adult residential facility for the developmentally disabled (ARF-DD). She was treated for type 2 diaetes mellitus (DM) with human insulin (Humulin 70/30), and analyzing her glycosylated hemoglobin (AlC) level, she was prescribed 500 mg of oral hypoglycemic metformin twice daily and Humulin R. It concludes that the physician assistant (PA) treating DM should prescribe considering additional factors such as quality of life.
