- Abstract
The article discusses the potential use of postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) as an intervention for HIV infected patients. The author states that postexposure prophylaxis is recommended for both occupational and nonoccupational exposures to HIV. They add that the drug is about 81 percent effective in preventing seroconversion to acute HIV infections.
