- Abstract
In this article, the author offers his view on whether the system of distributing drug samples is in the best interest of patients in the U.S. He is critical on the ethical obligations of physician assistants on free drug sample distribution. He stresses that in line with the commitment to integrity and professionalism, prescribing providers must consider the benefits and harms of samples and make decision that best upholds the medical principles of beneficence, justice and nonmaleficence.
