- Abstract
The article discusses the early ethnohistory of Illinois along several lines of scholarship beginning with indigenous history. Topics covered include the role indigenous people played in French colonial population geography, tribal histories that characterized early indigenous histography in the region, and interactions and cultural hybridity that occurred when Illinois and European world came together in the 7th century.
