- Title
Canada's perceived lack of leadership on global tobacco control.
- Authors
Hébert, Paul C.; Reddy, K. Srinath; Jha, Prabhat
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the issues involving the appointment of Barbara McDougall as the chairperson of the International Development Research Center (IDRC). They note that McDougall's previous role as an excutive of Imperial Tobacco Co. affects the priority of the IDRC to control tobacco use in developing countries. They contend that McDougall's role in the IDRC has weakened the institution's reputation.
