- Abstract
The article focuses on the origination of the Canadian Forces Medical Services' (CFMS) motto, Militi Succurrimus which means, We succor the Soldier, that was submitted by Dr. Michael Warrington, Lieutenant Colonel (LCol) in Tsawwassen, British Columbia on August 10, 1988. Warrington has informed that the motto was based from the Middlesex Hospital's motto, Miseris Succerrere Disco which means, I am learning to succor the distressed, which was inspired by a quotation from the Aeneid. Warrington then has suggested to LCol Anthony Grasset in adapting the motto to CFMS which was eventually agreed by the members of the organization.
