- Abstract
Leadership development is a planned effort of setting direction and guiding others. The most successful organizations today are the ones that get the most from each member of their team. To face the challenges in an environment of escalating change and complexity, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. needs capable and committed leaders regardless of level or station. Thus, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc must continue its emphasis on leadership development to unleash the talent of its membership and expand ownership of the organization's change and growth. The leadership development approach must stimulate new ways of relating, new behaviors, new skills and new tools. For example, to meet 21st century challenges, the Sorority should rely on frameworks and tools that support and enhance every member through mentoring, coaching, role modeling, and experiential learning. Leadership conceptual frameworks, styles, models, and strategies, environmental changes, and our organizational culture, all will impact the design and implementation of the Sorority's leadership development program.
