- Abstract
Objective: To probe into the influence of mindfulness training combined with family care on self-perceived burden and coping style of patients with lung cancer. Methods: A total of 70 cases of lung cancer patients diagnosed as stage I -II lung cancer for more than 3 months from April 2013 to December 2013 in department of respiratory medicine Tangshan people's hospital were randomly divided into control group (n = 35) and observation group (n = 35) by using random number method. The family nursing was given to the patients in control group, on the basis of that the patients in observation group received mindfulness training(once a week, every 90 min to 120 min, for a total of 6 weeks). Before intervention and after treatment respectively the Self-Perceived Burden Scale (SPBS), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCSQ) and Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) were used evaluate to the patients' feel burden, coping style and levels of mindfulness in both groups. Results: The differences of SPBS score, MCSQ and MAAS were not statistically significant between both groups before intervention(P>0. 05). After the intervention, the SPBS score, MCSQ score, MAAS score in two groups were better than that before the intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);the SPBS score, MCSQ and MAAS changes in observation group were better than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: Mindfulness training combined with family nursing could improve the lung cancer patients' self perceived burden and coping style.
