- Abstract
The article focuses on research on the potential of luminous bacteria as producers of resorbed polyhydroxalkanoate (PHA) polyesters. The research involved the analysis of 20 strains from 836 collections of luminous bacteria which had been isolated from seawater and fish organs in different water areas of the world's oceans for their potential as PHA producers. Results of the study revealed that all strains were capable of PHA synthesizing, although the yield of polymers differed significantly.
