- Abstract
The author provides a framework for the importance of the area of regenerative rehabilitation to physical therapist practice and highlights the articles that inaugurate the special series. He refers to the regenerative rehabilitation as the integration of principles and approaches from the fields of rehabilitation science and regenerative medicine. He cites the focus of regenerative medicine on the enhancement of endogenous stem cell function to repair tissue function lost due to injury.
