The article discusses the role of the commoner characters as seen in the plays by William Shakespeare, particularly, "Romeo and Juliet." The other Shakespeare plays with commoner characters include "Timon of Athens," "Julius Caesar," and "Antony and Cleopatra." The opinions of Peter Herman and Arthur F. Kinney on the commoner characters on such plays are also cited.
