Title
Plant genetics: Maize's journey out of Mexico.
Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted by Rute da Fonesca, Thomas Gilbert and colleagues at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark which concluded that the maize arrived in the U.S. Southwest 4000 years ago via a highland route in Central Mexico rather than by Pacific coastal route as claimed by other studies.
