- Abstract
Summary: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between university students' social physical anxiety and their attitudes towards leisure activities. The research group consists of 344 (202 male and 142 female) volunteer students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bartın University. Relational scanning model, one of the general scanning models, was used in the research. Personal information form prepared by the researchers, "Social Physique Anxiety Scale: SPAS" and "Leisure Attitude Scale: LAS" were used as data collection tools. The SPSS 26.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data. In addition, descriptive statistics, independent sample t-Test, single factor analysis of variance ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analyzes were used. In the findings of the study, no statistically significant difference was found between the t-test results of the participants according to the gender variable, between the LAS and its sub-dimensions and the total mean scores of the SPAS (p>0.05). On the other hand, in the results of the ANOVA test performed according to the variable of the department where the participants studied, a significant difference was found between LAS and its sub-dimensions and SPAS (p<0.05). In addition, as a result of the correlation analysis performed to determine the relationship between the participant's sports year variable and LAS and its sub-dimensions, no significant relationship was found in the LAS, affective and behavioral sub-dimensions, while a negative and low-level significant relationship was found in the "cognitive" sub-dimension (p<0.05). In addition, no significant relationship was found as a result of the correlation analysis between SPAS and LAS. In this case, it can be said that the attitude towards leisure activities of university students does not affect the level of social physical anxiety positively or negatively.
