- Authors

- Abstract
The article explores the financial burden of the prevention and treatment of cancer. Evidence shows the increasing financial burden of cancer on health-care systems, patients and their families, and society overall. A study examined out-of-pocket expenditures during the treatment of women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in Quebec. The impact of increasing medical care costs on cancer patients without health insurance is also discussed.
