- Abstract
This article discusses the use of phototherapy in the treatment of pigmentary disorders, such as melasma, senile lentigo, and vitiligo. It emphasizes the importance of targeting vascular characteristics in hyperpigmentary disorders and highlights the role of energy-based devices, such as lasers and radiofrequency, in controlling dermal changes. The article also addresses the need for photoprotection in preventing and treating hyperpigmentary disorders, particularly in Asian populations. Additionally, it explores the effectiveness of phototherapy as the cornerstone treatment for vitiligo and discusses strategies for treating challenging areas and enhancing the efficacy of repigmentation.
