- Abstract
This paper is the first of a trilogy, based on a professsional cooperation among three professors from the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law, from the State University "Goce Delchev" - Stip (Republic of Macedonia). It's a part of a planned publishing activity for 2018 within the framework of the one-year scientific-research project: The role and significance of the State Attorney's Office in the justice system of the Republic of Macedonia, funded by the UGD Scientific Research Fund. This paper will be a part of a monograph dedicated to this specific authority in our legal system. The authors, using the legal-historical and normative method, begin with the legislative arrangement of this institution in the legal system of our country, going back as far as the period after the Second World War, when Macedonia was part of the SFR Yugoslavia. Following, the paper addresses the legal status and the role of the Public/State Attorney in the judicial system of independent R. Macedonia. The third chapter continues with consideration of the legal nature of the State Attorney's Office as a participant in the court litigation procedure. Finally, the fourth and last chapter, is completed with a description of the internal organizational structure of the State Attorney as a state body sui generis.
