- Abstract
The authors examine the suggestion that enhanced epithelial sodium ion channel proteolysis contributes to channel activation in the setting of cystic fibrosis. They mention that the muscle vasoregulation observed using intravital microscopy carries intrinsic limitations secondary to its invasive nature. They argue that individual capillaries cannot be observed using contrast-enhanced ultrasound. The authors also object to using intravital microscopy for measuring total capillary blood volume.
