- Title
"Sino-Pacifica": Conceptualizing Greater Southeast Asia as a Sub-Arena of World History.
- Authors
ABALAHIN, ANDREW J.
- Abstract
In this article the author discusses the historical study of Southeast Asia and East Asia and argues that studying those regions together as part of a macro-region that includes Southeast, East, Inner, and Northeast Asia aids researchers in their historical analysis of the area. He comments on the influence of Chinese society on the history of all other cultures in the region, examines how the study of geographical borderlands has led to sociospatial grouping in scholarship, and discusses the central Chinese agricultural revolution.
