- Title
Prenatal diagnosis of focal placental invasion in upper uterine segment: is novel 'separation sign' key?

- Abstract
The majority of PAS cases reported worldwide have been associated with placenta previa overlying a previous Cesarean scar, with only a few reported cases involving a myomectomy scar. We demonstrate the utility of the newly described sonographic sign, the "separation sign"[1], in the diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS), involving the anterior uterine fundus, in a woman with a previous Cesarean delivery and myomectomy. Since the placenta did not overlie the previous Cesarean section scar, we believe the increta in the upper uterine segment was due to the previous myomectomy.
